A break to the city and the stunning Amalfi Coast

The majestic city of Rome and the Amalfi Coast is a fabulous combination for anyone wanting to experience two very different but complimentary parts of Italy.  The juxtaposition of ancient and new as one shaped the other provides a backdrop to one of the greatest city breaks in Europe.  The history of Rome is ever present across the city so two full days here allow you to visit the main sights as well as enjoy a sample of some superb cuisine. Of course, we can tailor make any trip duration and include the key sightseeing highlights.  After time in the city some well deserved rest and relaxation on the Amalfi Coast will be welcome where even people watching is a pastime!

Day One

Fly to Rome Fiumicino Airport where a private transfer will be waiting to take you to The Inn at the Roman Forum. Located amongst the cobbled streets of ancient Rome, The Inn at the Roman Forum sits on the doorstep of the Roman Forum itself. Ancient ruins are attached to the hotel – wedding receptions have even taken place here. Although the hotel is in the ancient part of the city, the majestic sights of central Rome are easily accessible by foot.  Vatican City is a short taxi ride away. Furthermore, why not hire an expert guide to fascinate you around the Vatican or the Colosseum?

Day Four

Take a taxi transfer to Rome Termini station for a leisurely rail journey through the Italian countryside to Naples and the doorstep of the Amalfi Coast. After a short two hour drive, just beyond the pretty seaside town of Positano is the traditional village of Praiano. Here, clutched onto the edge of the village, is the striking Casa Angelina. This white property oozes hospitality and warmth aided by the eclectic and colourful artwork the owner has distributed around the property. On your way out of Naples, you could even visit the ancient city of Pompeii and learn more about the devastating eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD which buried the city under a mountain of ash. Four nights here will enable you to explore the area at a leisurely pace.

Day Eight

After a leisurely breakfast, your transfer will take you along the winding coast to Naples airport and your flight home
