It’s a hive of activity at several of our Italian hotels at this time of year as they get ready to open for the season.  Rooms are refreshed, paint is touched up, staff training is renewed and new menus are created.  The staff at each of our Italian hotels can’t wait to reopen their doors and below are some reasons why you should visit each one.

Hotel Miramalfi – opening 1st April

Hotel Miramalfi, new to Workham Hotels, has been defining hotel luxury since it opened in 1956.  Perched on the cliff above the pretty town of Amalfi the hotel is still owned and managed by the same family who originally opened the hotel and with the same passion.

The hotel has 45 individually designed rooms each facing the sea or overlooking the town of Amalfi. Relax by the sea water pool or soak up the sun at the beach club. Dining is excellent at Hotel Miramalfi with the choice of leisurely Sauté Restaurant offering traditional Neapolitan cuisine or the more formal Donna Emma La Cucina. The stunning Amalfi coast is easy to explore from Hotel Miramalfi – Ravello, Positano and Capri are all easily accessible and the hotel is just 800 metres from the centre of Amalfi itself. Miramalfi Hotel is the perfect place to unwind, get away from it all and simply be who you want to be.  The Classic, Superior and Executive Rooms are currently available to book for stays from 1st April with the remainder of the rooms coming on line shortly.

Casa Angelina – opening 1st April

We have worked with Casa Angelina for a number of years and are constantly amazed by the fact the hotel always looks brand new.  That may have something to with their decorator who is employed full time to touch up the expanse of white walls at the property.

Casa Angelina is the pre-eminent luxury hotel on the Amalfi Coast combining a timeless elegance of style and service with cosseting accommodation, restorative wellness therapies and an unsurpassed location.  The hotel is 10 minutes by car from Positano and a couple of hours from Naples airport.  Delicately perched above the tranquillity of the Mediterranean Sea, Casa Angelina offers 39 luxurious rooms and suites as well as a heated indoor pool and an outdoor pool on the terrace.  Casa Angelina is a short walk from the beach and also offers its own private boats for forays along the stunning coastline.

Therasia Resort & Spa – opening 21st April

Therasia Resort & Spa is situated on the island of Vulcano just an hour north of Sicily by ferry where the horizon stretches over the Mediterranean sea and the entire Aeolian archipelago. Therasia Resort & Spa is open each year from April through to the end of October.

The infinity pool is perfectly located overlooking the majestic Faraglioni of Lipari, surrounded by a large sun-bathing terrace and the relaxed I Grusoni restaurant. A private rocky bathing area allows for swimming in the clear waters of the Aeolian Islands. Dining is a highlight at Therasia: as well as relaxed dining at L’Arcipelago and at the pool restaurant, Il Cappero offers one Michelin star dining.  The hotel’s new Il Tenerumi restaurant takes vegetarian cuisine to a new level and also proudly displays one green Michelin star.  Completing the hotel’s facilities are an equipped spa centre with an indoor seawater pool, sauna, Turkish bath and emotion shower.

Botania Relais Resort & Spa – opening 21st April

Ottolire Resort  – opening 28th April

Ottolire Resort is located in the heart of the Itria Valley, Puglia and is the passion project of the Piccoli family. The restoration of the buildings was meticulously carried out over a 10 year period and the resulting hotel is really something to behold. Ottolire Resort encompasses everything that is great about Puglia: fabulous food, amazing wines and beautiful scenery.

The hotel rooms are split over several buildings that in the past were the home and farm buildings of the Piccoli family. The grounds of the hotel have been beautifully landscaped with a stunning pool to relax by after a day exploring the surrounding towns. Once you have tired of sampling local wines and eating there are a load of activities available from cycling, horseback riding, hot air ballooning or perhaps just a drive around the nearby villages of Locorotondo or Martina Franca.
